Yesterday, the company Barnes & Noble released that will allow the running Android applications at their Nook Color e-reader. This e-book reader run with Android 2.1 and it was conceived as a hybrid between an e-reader and a tablet.
In fact, some users managed to unofficially install Android apps on it. However, many prefer not to make modifications to the software of their mobile devices, in this case the nook clolor, for fear of losing your warranty.
Applications developed for Google's mobile operating system would be available to Nook Color users by mid-year. New apps will be screened for quality by Barnes & Noble to avoid copyright and offensive content issues.
As early as October of last year, Barnes & Nobles had mentioned their desire to offer the possibility of running applications for Android in the latest version of your ebook reader.
If Barnes & Noble carries out this modification, its Nook Color would cease to be a simple e-reader with the air of a tablet to become a tablet itself. On second thought, it wouldn't be bad at all.
