HMD Global has confirmed some tech publications from Taiwan, which noted that a new smartphone called Nokia X71 to the country.
The launch event will be held on April 2 there, although it could reach other markets. The Finnish firm will also announce the smartphone Nokia 9 PureView in Taiwan.
HMD Global has released a couple of smartphones with notched displays in the recent past. However, the Nokia X71 will come with a better all-round experience than any other phone released by the company. It could be the first terminal of the company to arrive with a perforated screen.
During the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 held in late February, HMD Global unveiled the penta-lens camera setup for the Nokia 9 PureView smartphone and a couple of budget-friendly phones like Nokia 3.2, Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 1 Plus. Since the company did not announce a mid-range phone at MWC 2019, the Nokia X71 could arrive with typical midrange specs and as a successor to the Nokia 6.1 Plus or Nokia 8.1 smartphone.
HMD Global's press release confirms that the smartphone will be equipped with a triple camera unit that will include a 48 megapixel primary sensor and a 120 degree wide angle lens. The phone's other specs are currently under the wraps, though it is said to equip a screen with a hole in it for the front photo sensor. We will be confirming this soon.
The launch event will be on April 2 in Taiwan and will begin at 1:30 PM (local time). As of the date of this publication, no information is available on the pricing of the Nokia X71 and Nokia 9 PureView for Taiwan.
