One of the main complaints of Nokia 9 PureView It's your unreliable fingerprint scanner. Last week, HMD Global finally released an update, which is said to fix the issue with the scanner.
While some things improved with the new firmware that was released for the flagship, the update appears to have negatively impacted one user. The phone is practically unlocked via the screen using anything. Will you be able to believe that we will tell you next?
The affected owner who goes through it is @decodedpixel. He shared a video on Twitter showing the problem with the Nokia 9's in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone was unlocked with an unregistered fingerprint and even a pack of gum! Furthermore, he adds that he was also able to unlock it with a coin and leather gloves. Amazing…
Here is my Nokia 9 Fingerprint sensor issue, phone can be unlocked using a chewing gum packet or someone else's finger. Even unlocked with a coin or leather gloves. Please do help me get my Nokia 9 sorted. pic.twitter.com/Thce3nB2fr

The problem did not go away even after re-registering a new fingerprint. Nevertheless, no statement from HMD Global on the matter yet.
One thing we notice is that there is a glass screen protector on the device. While screen protectors interfere with the performance of in-screen fingerprint scanners, the device shouldn't actually be unlocked as easily as the user reported.
HMD Global may need to release another update to fix the problem, if it is widespread. On the other hand, if it is punctual, the user will have to fix it.
Recall that The Nokia 9 Pureview is a high-end that is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845, the 10nm SoC which in this case is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space, and powered by a 3,320mAh capacity battery. The device, in turn, has a 5.99-inch FullHD + pOLED screen, a rear penta-camera composed of 12 MP sensors and a 20 MP selfie camera.
