Launched in May 2018 as a modest performance terminal, the Nokia 5.1 hit the market under the aegis of Android 8.0 Oreo. You are now receiving a major new update that comes with Android 10, something expected for months. This happens after the Plus version got it in May.
This device is getting the firmware package via OTA method. Therefore, you only have to wait for the notification to reach the respective unit. The one who announced the news that the phone already has said OS was Juho Sarvikas, nothing more and nothing less than the CEO of the company, through his official Twitter account.
Android 10 update comes to Nokia 5.1
The Android 10 update for the Nokia 5.1 has a weight of 1.3 GB. As expected, it comes with significant changes. So there is a revamped interface and new features, but the usual stuff like software optimizations, minor bug fixes, and typical maintenance patches is not necessary either.
The site GSMArena describes that the first wave of countries to get the new firmware includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. For now, only 10% of users will receive the update, a further 50% will receive it on October 11, while almost everyone else will have to wait until October 13. India will receive the update for the last time on October 29.
