Nexus 5 launcher is now called Google Now Launcher after Google Search update

Google Now Launcher

When the Nexus 5 was launched, a new launcher appeared by surprise that at first seemed like the application launcher of the exclusive Google phone, but that many sensed as in the future it could become a launcher that would appear in the Play Store.

Yesterday Google Search was updated with several new features, and among which is that the name of the launcher has been changed from Nexus 5 to Google Now Launcher.

After updating to the new version of Google Search or Google Search, the Nexus 5 launcher name in Settings> Home has changed to "Google Now Launcher". Other devices with the Nexus 5 launcher installed they are also seeing the new screen with the new name when the application has been updated.

Which may lead you to think that we could be before an imminent arrival to the Play Store from the Google Now launcher itself, as some had previously claimed. It is also possible that they have decided nothing more than to change the name, so we will have to wait for it if Google finally decides to launch this launcher to the Play Store, as it has done with both applications in the last year.

From Android Central they have also discovered that if the APK of the Google Now launcher is installed on a device with the default Android device, it will appear the option to import application icons to the new launcher. Which may be another sign that the Google launcher could appear on the Play Store very soon.

A launcher that we hope to try soon from the Play Store and that shows the importance that Google is giving to launch more system applications in its store.
