In December of last year, Redmi announced two variants of the K30. One of these, which is the one available in the global market, is the Redmi K30 (launched as LITTLE X2 in India) with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 730G, while the other is the 5G version, which comes with the Snapdragon 765G chipset and is only available for sale in the Chinese market.
The company appears to be planning the launch of a new version of the Redmi K30 5G, which will be sold worldwide. This is indicated in a new report originating from Weibo, the famous microblogging social network.
The information not only assumes that the Chinese manufacturer is working on such a smartphone, but also points out that it will be cheaper than the current Redmi K30 5G. He also points out that the 4G model would be discontinued by the firm. (Discover: The Redmi K30 Pro, the new flagship with Snapdragon 865, is now official)
This version may be called "Lite" or "Youth Edition". The price range it will boast is said to be between 1,500 yuan (~ 194 euros or $ 211) and 2000 yuan (~ 258 euros or $ 281). The base model of the Chinese Redmi K30 5G sits at 1,999 yuan, so this "Redmi K30 5G Lite" should sell for less.
The new Redmi K30 5G is not expected to arrive with characteristics and technical specifications different from those of the Chinese model, but this is something that we cannot rule out. Coming at a lower price, it may have somewhat more modest qualities. We are looking forward to this.
Reviewing a little the main features of the K30 5G, we find that it has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD + resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, the aforementioned Snapdragon 765G SoC, 6/8 GB of RAM, 64/128/256 GB of internal storage space and a 4,500 mAh battery with 30 W fast charge. It also has a quad camera of 64 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP + 2 MP and a double front shooter of 20 MP + 2 MP.
