MT6795 processor dangerously close to Qualcomm and its Snapdragon 810

A few years ago Qualcomm dominated the processor market with an iron fist. There was no manufacturer who could stand up to it. But things are changing thanks to excellent work from MediaTek.

Despite the fact that the processors of this Chinese manufacturer have always been associated with a lower division than those of Qualcomm, surely due to the origin of MediaTek and the price of its SoCs, things are changing. And it is that through the Geekbench portal the MediaTek MT6795 benchmarks and the results have nothing to envy those obtained by Qualcomm and its Snapdragon 810.

MediaTek MT6795 processor scores 4536 points in multicore test

And the results show that MediaTek is doing an excellent job. Although the 20nm manufacturing process is older than the one used by Qualcomm and its Snapdragon 810, the truth is that the MT6795 is dangerously close to the American manufacturer's flagship processor.

As you can see in the graph, the MT6795 scored 886 points in single core performance test, while in the multi-core test it reached 4536 points. If we compare it to the Snapdrago 810 SoC, which at the time scored 1144 points in the single-core performance and 4345 points in the multi-core performance test, the good work of the guys at MediaTek is clear.

Of course, there is a detail to take into account. We know that the performance test of the MediaTek MT6795 It was carried out on a terminal with Android 5.0 L and 3 GB of RAM, while the data obtained with the Qualcomm SoC was made with an LG G Flex 2, with its 2 GB of RAM.

At any rate the results are quite promising. We already know that large manufacturers like Sony are beginning to bet heavily on this manufacturer to lower production costs and, if it continues to work as well as it has been up to now, I am sure that MediaTek is going to be a real headache for the guys at Qualcomm.

Recall that the Asian manufacturer will begin mass production of its new flagship processor at the end of next March, so throughout the second quarter of this year 2015 we will begin to see the first terminals that integrate this powerful SoC. Will the first be the Meizu MX5?
