The Moto Z2 Play is already a reality

As I announced last Wednesday here en Androidsis, Lenovo's subsidiary, Motorola, had planned to announce a new smartphone on the first day of June, thus marking the new month, and indeed, that has been the case. Yesterday, and after several months of leaks, rumors and speculation, Motorola made the Moto Z2 Play official, a continued and more refined version of the previous model.

Next, and without further ado, we tell you all the secrets of this new smartphone that comes under the Motorola-Lenovo seal and that, surely, you are going to love it.

This is the new Moto Z2 Play

The Moto Z2 Play features a 5,5-inch Full HD AMOLED display and inside it houses a snapdragon 626 processor from Qualcomm accompanied by 3 or 4 GB of RAM according to the client choose between the two available internal storage options, 32 or 64 GB, which in any case can be expanded since it integrates microSD card slot up to 2TB, so you can carry thousands and thousands of songs always with you, videos, photos and many more.

Integrated

In terms of design, the new Moto Z2 Play doesn't stray too far from the original Z Play design, and it is compatible with Moto Mods accessories. The aesthetic differences are very subtle: a larger fingerprint sensor on the front, similar to the sensors we found on the Moto G5 and on the G5 Plus. And from that button you can take advantage of the sensors to return to Home or open the recent applications menu.

The phone is also thinner than its predecessor, 5,99 mm compared to 7 mm for the Moto Z Play. And it also has a USB Type-C port, and yes, a 3,5mm headphone jack.

Autonomy

One of the aspects to which we always pay the most attention when purchasing or simply evaluating a smartphone is its autonomy. The new Moto Z2 Play features a 3.000 mAh battery, which implies that it has a much smaller battery than its predecessor the Moto Z Play, which was 3,510 mAh and that was tremendously efficient thanks to the low resolution of its screen and the Snapdragon 625 processor. Now, let's be clear that a Smaller battery capacity does not always mean having a worse autonomy, this is not so simple, so for now we will have to wait for the first tests although, right off the bat, it does not seem like a good decision by Motorola.

The fast charging system also stands out, which, according to the company, allows up to eight hours of use on a charge of just 15 minutes.

Cameras

At the rear is, as usual, the main cameraMoon 12 MP Dual Pixel, with stabilizer, laser autofocus, aperture f / 1.7, dual LED flash and a pixel size of 1,4 μm. Also the front camera looks great with its 5 MP sensor, f / 2.2 aperture, 1,4 μm pixel size and front flash.

The Moto Z2 Play will arrive with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and a number of useful features exclusive to the firm: Moto Display, Moto Voice and Moto Actions.

And as we have already said before, it is compatible with existing Moto Mods accessories, as well as new ones that will start to be released in late summer: the JBL SoundBoost 2, a wireless charger, a Moto TurboPower Pack charger, a GamePad.

Price and Availability

At the moment, the Moto Z2 Play goes on sale in United States hand in hand with Verizon as the exclusive operator next July in two finishes, Lunar Gray and Fine Gold. Non-Verizon customers can also purchase a free version "later this summer" for 499$, which is an increase of $ 50 over last year's model.

And when it comes to its launch beyond the borders of the United States, Motorola - Lenovo has yet to comment on it, so we will have to wait a little longer.
