Less than a week ago, without making any noise, a title called Monument Valley developed by the team of UsTwo Games, whose precedents on mobile devices are a kind of endless runner and a puzzle game focused on filling in colored squares. At a surprising price of € 3,59, people were faced with a work of those that only arrive on our phones from time to time, which because of its playable or artistic vein know how to stand out, and much, above the rest.
Monument Valley puts us in the shoes of a silent princess, a character with whom we will have to go through different levels originated around the impossible images and tricks with the perspective of the Dutch artist Marius escher. And it is in these levels where we will have to squeeze the coconut to be able to advance in a story that, with very little, knows how to say a lot. No cinematics, no abusive dialogues or anything like that, in Monument Valley they talk about level design and this is exceptional, just take a look at the launch video of the iOS version or the making off they have on their channel.
It is comforting to see people so passionate about what they do and who show a love for their work that ends up permeating the final product. After several days "out there" receiving analysis and criticism from the specialized press and the public, Monument Valley seems to be an unmissable experience that, like one of its very few failures, has a number of levels that ends up feeling too brief, being able to finish first in two or three hours. It is true, on the other hand, that if we replay it we will be able to appreciate completely new details. There is no date for the Android version yet but it should not arrive later than a couple of weeks.
