Microsoft integrates the best Sunrise features into Outlook

Outlook

Sunrise was purchased by Microsoft when it was one of the best alternative calendars to Google's own. A Sunrise that was losing steam to finally know that it would be eliminated from the Google Play Store for the benefit of Outlook, Microsoft's calendar that, supposedly, would collect the best virtues of that Sunrise that had its great moment, although ephemeral.

Microsoft has announced a series of updates to the mobile version of its Outlook calendar. The great most of those novelties They are from the defunct Sunrise Calendar that, as I have mentioned, was acquired by Microsoft just 18 months ago. A way to recover the greatness of that alternative calendar that will have part of its "spirit" in Outlook.

While already on the web, Microsoft has confirmed that a selection of "Interesting calendars" they will be available to add and view from the Android app. Initially, they will indicate sporting events, but also TV series and other trends to follow.

The great novelty for everything is a event icon series, among which you can include those very familiar that come from Sunrise, apart from the new designs. An added novelty can be highlighted, which is a calendar integrated into the event details when an address is specified. While the map in Outlook is arranged by Bing, if you click on it, the location will be opened in your default maps app, which possibly opens Google's.

For now we will have to wait to have all these new features of Outlook on Android, since they are already available on iOS. In any case, it will not be a matter of long time, since Microsoft usually has all the news that it launches to one or the other OS synchronized. We will also have the opportunity to have an updated date and time selector.
