Lyft can now get destinations directly from your phone's calendar

Lyft

La open war between Uber and more apps, like Lyft (or even Maps), against the taxi drivers' union it does not look like it will end. Although at least the latter, they are coming together to get their own applications to be more up to date with that world that does not stop evolving on a planet totally connected to which we are heading.

Lyft is launching a new feature that will allow the user not have to be typing the destination time and time again, since now this service will be able to "fetch" your next destination directly from the information obtained from the calendar of your connected device.

It is a feature that does not go far of which Uber has deployed a few weeks ago, which emphasizes the existing rivalry between these two services that are competing for a new market. The objective behind linking the calendar apps and those of taking a seat in a vehicle, is to apply that destination that already points to that calendar event in which it says "Go to dinner with Pedro at X restaurant."

Lyft

With that in mind, Lyft now allows you synchronize the calendar of your phone and its app so you don't have to manually enter the destination of your meeting or date. There are some things to be clear about, and that is that when you use this feature, Lyft only syncs with the native calendar app on your phone. What this means is that if you have a third-party calendar, you will have to sync it with Google Calendar for it to work properly.

As a bonus, Lyft users need to take their time to enter the exact address of destiny. The address has to be complete with the street, city and even the zip code so that Lyft can apply this "magic".

Shortly, it will also be updated with the option to create shortcuts and favorite locations just like you now have "Home" and "Work."
