LG Pay: new payment platform Do we need so many?

mobile payments cards

El payment through mobile with the use of virtual card holdersEither directly through NFC or with the operating systems' own systems is not a novelty. Although it is true that in countries like Spain it is being implemented more today thanks to the fact that more and more businesses offer this payment alternative. In the United States, they have been taking advantage of it for years and betting on leaving plastic debit and credit cards at home. Now everything is carried on the mobile. However, as it happens every time there is a novelty in the market, there are many who want to sign up for it even in the case of being really redundant. This is the case of LG that LG Pay will now present.

LG Pay It is not at all different from other options that we already have in the market and, therefore, it will offer users who have a company phone a special application from which to pay with their mobile, associating it with the technology of the terminals themselves. Logically, one might think that it will only be available in mid-range and high-end terminals. However, does it make sense that at this point LG tries to compete in a market in which it would be better to join forces? We analyze it below.

LG Pay and blah blah blah

LG may present its mobile payment system as revolutionary, attractive and very interesting for its users. However, this does not mean that it stops being more of the same, also arriving too late. For those of you who are a bit lost in the matter, currently Apple has its own platform for iOS called Apple Pay, and in the case of Android there were two alternatives to date. Android Pay as generic and Samsung Pay for the devices of the Korean company. LG's proposal adds a more exclusive one for its phones and seems to want more to demonstrate to Samsung that they also have their own product than to really improve the utility that users can give to this type of technology.

As I have said on other occasions when the manufacturers of mobile devices with Android start to foolishly compete with each other, union would be worth more than war. If Android Pay were a system that all mobile devices equipped with the necessary technology equip, and the brands bet on its implementation and development, they would save a lot of money that they spend to create their own programs and users could understand each other better with this mobile payment. It must be remembered that although many geeks do know how to use it and do it regularly, at the moment, most of the public does not know or does not know how to use this function.

At this rate, with the new LG Pay proposal, on the other hand just as absurd as the one shown with Samsung Pay, we are only going towards a mobile world with a lot of exclusive payment alternatives that serve the same purpose, that do not contribute anything and that make companies spend a good amount of money. Instead, Apple remains focused on its own and Apple Pay has already made significant qualitative leaps. Does anyone really believe that a user is going to decide on a LG or a Samsung for the Pay system that distinguishes them?
