Lenovo launches the Android app for its Lenovo Beacon storage device

There are few alternatives when you don't want to depend on services like Dropbox or Drive to have your storage in the cloud and thus be able to enjoy it at all times thanks to the internet connection. One of these alternatives is the one launched by Lenovo with its Lenovo Beacon storage and multimedia device, which is now accompanied by an Android application recently launched in the Play Store.

With this application you can connect to your Lenovo Beacon storage device from any of your devices as long as you have an internet connection, as if it were your own cloud storage. The advantage of this device and application is that you will have total control over your own "cloud", without the need for your data to be stored on external servers.

While devices such as televisions will have to be connected to the Beacon via an HDMI cable, phones and tablets will only need to have an internet connection to be able to have all the files you have on it. And, another of the necessary factors for it to work is that you will have to have the appropriate Windows software for the relevant permissions.

Levono Beacon

When it comes to Lenovo Beacon, it is a device that works with an Intel Atom processor and has a storage of up to 6TB, and which you can supply through two USB ports. The multimedia center uses XBMC, and, while it is still arriving in stores, you can have more information from the Lenovo website from this same link.

A very interesting device, which can offer a real alternative to all storage that you have in the cloud and that you can also use to play all kinds of multimedia content on the TV screen in your living room.

You can access the free application from the widget that you will find below.

The app was not found in the store. 🙁

It would be good to know when the lenovo is going to launch the gadget, which I have pending since April (expected launch date) and still nothing. Even so in Spain they had no intention of putting it, but surely it could be achieved in some way.
