Latest Android Wear 2.0 Dev Preview includes iOS support

IOS support

We have already learned through various rumors that Android Wear 2.0 would be being deployed by the beginning of next month, specifically on February 9. An expected update that has been delayed, so expectations are high for it to propel connected wearables that are still not emerging as a product of interest to the general public.

Before that final version can be seen, the big G has unfolded a latest developer build so that they have their applications ready for the official launch. An Android Wear 2.0 that will be seen on the LG Watch Sport and Watch Style like LG's two connected wearables made for Google itself.

In that last build some interesting news are brought and that will have a greater impact when the developers include it, since it has been updated wearables support library. If the Android Wear app is compiled with API level 25 and supports this library, it would be ready to be deployed in the Google Play Store.

Android Wear 2.0

There are some bug fixes and improvements Included as is the support for NFC HCE (Host Card Emulation). Another novelty is the way it can be changed to a single page, through an action icon. What this change offers is faster and more scalable navigation to different views of the app. Other changes are to the ProGuard API and Complication.

Finally, and the most peculiar, is that Android Wear 2.0 allows iOS support. What this means is that developers will be able to distribute applications to paired iPhone watches through a brand in the app's manifest. This setting will tell the Play Store that the user does not have to have the Android phone application in order to use the one that has been developed.
