It is one of the letters that may not be available on all phone keypads, but it only happens in those who do not usually use it in their language. Spanish is one of those that do use it, being a widely used keyboard, especially two in particular, Spanish from Spain and Latin American Spanish.
The letter Ñ is considered an important letter within the vocabulary, so you should consider having your own keyboard with it as an option. Ñ is the fifteenth letter of the Spanish alphabet and the twelfth consonant, this letter is also used in the writing of non-Hispanic countries.

It is probably one of the most complete Android keyboards, it is owned by Google and has the “Ñ” among all its letters in different languages. For example, if you use the Spanish keyboard from Spain you have the “Ñ” between the letters, but this is not the only one that has it pre-installed.
You can try in any of the applications if you have it active, which is usually safe if you have installed it in your language and have chosen it by default. Gboard has a multitude of languages, it is installed by default on Android terminals, except in some cases where the user has Swiftkey.
To use the letter Ñ in WhatsApp, do the following:
- Launch the WhatsApp app on your phone
- Click on the nut, on the top bar of the keyboard
- Click on languages – Add keyboard and choose “English”
- It will show you different keyboard layouts, choose one that has the letter Ñ, to do this select the default QWERTY
- To finish, click “Done” and end this process to have the letter Ñ when writing in conversations

How to select the letter Ñ in Swiftkey
One of the most important keyboards on Android is Swiftkey, is the direct competitor of Gboard, but it doesn't come pre-installed on Android phones. Despite this, many users opt for this keyboard by default, being necessary to download and install it from the Play Store.
Adding the letter Ñ is easy, if by default your keyboard is the Spanish of Spain, you will have it in all the options, be it in apps, browser and in all the sites. If you do not have it once you start the keyboard, it is best to change it and force to use all letters, including the aforementioned "Ñ".
To put the letter Ñ on your Swiftkey keyboard, Do the following:
- Open the keyboard in the WhatsApp application, if you have it by default it will open with the Swiftkey keyboard
- Press on the keyboard and click on “Languages”
- Finally select the language «Spanish» and click ready
Select the Spanish QWERTY keyboard, if you choose another you will not have the letter "Ñ" among the eligible ones, but this usually happens on other keyboards, even on Gboard. Once you select QWERTY in Spanish you will have the "Ñ" that you can use in conversations, browser and other applications.
Select the letter Ñ on Samsung keyboard
The manufacturer Samsung decides to include its own keyboard, it is one of the most versatile due to the options included once you see the many options it gives. If you have a phone from the manufacturer, it is best to leave this by default if you want to get the performance in all applications and more.
Samsung, like others, is a functional keyboard, it is recommended, but the same happens if you decide on Gboard or Swiftkey, for one of the two keyboards. To make use of the letter Ñ on the Samsung keyboard do the following, but everything step by step without missing any:
- Go to phone settings
- Go to “Display”, then to “Language and text input”, «Samsung keyboard», Languages and types, finally select Spanish (ES), which is recommended

Put the letter Ñ in GO Keyboard Lite
A keyboard that has been gaining popularity is GO Keyboard Lite, over time it has become one of the most downloaded from the Play Store, all thanks to the smooth operation of the keyboard. As with other keyboards, can be configured to count with the letter Ñ, provided that the Spanish of Spain is chosen.
