The Huawei P Smart Z is Huawei's first smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera. It was spotted on the official websites of Huawei Spain and Huawei Italia last week, but has not yet gone on sale.
However, it is not the only pop-up selfie camera phone from the Chinese phone maker. There is the Huawei Y9 Prime (2019), and it's almost the same phone as the P Smart Z, but with an additional rear camera. This has been listed on Huawei's official website, showing all its specifications, and we detail them below.
We said that it shares almost the same specifications and even the design that the Huawei P Smart Z has. So you get a 6,59-inch Ultra FullView display with a FullHD + resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels and a two-tone finish on the back. (Get to know it: Huawei Y9 2019: Huawei's new mid-range)
Huawei Y9 Prime (2019)
Inside is a Kirin 750F processor, which is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space.
Unlike the P Smart Z, it also has a 128GB version and both variants (the other is 64GB) have a microSD card slot of up to 512GB capacity.
The pop-up selfie camera on the Y9 Prime (2019) is a 16 MP sensorwhile the rear cameras, which are 16 MP + 2 MP dual camera sensors, add an 8 MP ultra-wide angle lens to make a triple camera setup. In turn, there are many camera features including 3D portrait retouching (for front and rear cameras) and AI scene recognition.
On the other hand, the device has a 4,000 mAh battery that is charged via a USB Type-C port. There is a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device, but there is no support for NFC connectivity. The phone runs EMUI 9.0 based on Android Pie and comes in Midnight Black, Emerald Green and Sapphire Blue.
Finally, Huawei has not yet announced the availability and prices of the Huawei Y9 Prime (2019). However, we are eager to know if you are willing to add a little more to the price of the P Smart Z, which is 279 euros, due to its an additional rear camera.
