Huawei presented yesterday the foldable smartphone Mate X. It is also Huawei's first 5G phone and the firm's first smartphone of its kind.
On this occasion, after many flowers thrown at the new terminal of the firm, Huawei has shared a video of the Mate X in use with King of Glory, the popular Tencent game, running on the screen.
The demo video shows the phone in action while it is folded and, after a while, when it is unfolded. Noteworthy is the full-view display that the device offers users even when folded. It is also interesting to note the smooth transformation from the folded screen to the unfolded view that almost doubles the visible screen. As you can see in the video, there was no noticeable lag in the game when the screen was displayed. This may be due to the power that the firm's Kirin 980 provides and the 8 GB of RAM that accompanies it. The character and scenes are also correspondingly larger.
The folded screen is 6.6 inches with a FullHD + resolution of 2,480 x 1,148 pixels and a slim 19.5: 9 aspect ratio. This is no different from a normal smartphone, but when unfolded you get 8 inches of screen size and a resolution, also FHD +, of 2,480 x 2,200 pixels, as well as an 8: 7.1 screen ratio, which is almost square.
Unfortunately, we have to wait until mid-2019 to buy the phone. As has been seen in the presentation of the device, it will come with a version with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage space to a price of EUR 2.299, which is not cheap at all, but not very far from the almost 1,800 euros that it costs Samsung Galaxy Fold.
