Bad news for users of the Huawei Mate 9 who were waiting for the update that would add EMUI 10 to the device. While the firm had previously announced that the firmware package was in development for the device, it appears that it was not something supported by someone duly qualified to claim such a thing.
In detail, Huawei, through one of its official Instagram accounts, indicated that EMUI 10 was already in progress for the Mate 9. Apparently, a bot or a staff without knowledge of it was the one that responded to a user's comment asking them to sign the petition for the OS to reach the phone, saying that the update was being adequate by the company.
The Huawei Mate 9 is the high-end that the company unveiled to compete with other high-performance terminals from 2016-2017. This is a smartphone that could easily run EMUI 10 based on Android 10, as it has the Kirin 960 processor, 4 GB of RAM and an internal storage space of 64 GB. Thanks to this hardware, the operating system should not present any problem in it. However, Huawei's decision, not to equip it with EMUI 10, could be due to reasons of age and benefits; The firm does not want users to continue using this model, but rather newer and more lucrative ones.
The Huawei Mate 9, in addition to having the specifications already detailed, is a mobile that has a 5.9-inch IPS LCD screen with a FullHD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 glass. This was launched with Android 7.0 Nougat and it seems that it will be left with only Android Pie based on EMUI 9, which was the last major update it received. In addition, it has a 20 MP + 12 MP double camera and an 8 MP front shooter for selfies, video calls and the facial recognition system that it uses.
