During the launch event of the Nova 4, which was held in China, He Gang, the president of Huawei's consumer enterprise mobile phone product line, revealed that the company's total smartphone shipments for this year will exceed 200 million units for December 25.

When Chinese media asked He Gang about the company's goal for next year, he said nothing has been confirmed yet, but suggested that the company could be looking for between 230 and 250 million shipments next year.

Based on these figures, it appears that the company is aiming to increase its mobile phone business from 30% to 50% annually. However, He Gang stressed that it all depends on market conditions and ensures steady progress with channels and supplier partners.

He added that the company will soon announce its sales expectations for next year. He said that Huawei will continue to increase investment in research and development, and will continue to bring new products for everyone.

During the Huawei Global Terminal Developer and Partner Conference in June this year, Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong established a 200 million shipment target for Huawei and Honor smartphones. The annual target for 2019 was set at 250 million units. The brand will strive to reach 300 million units in 2020. This was mentioned just after several days ago it was rumored that the firm was maintaining the goal of 200 million shipments.

According to IDC data, Huawei managed to ship around 146 million units in the first three quarters of this year. This means that to cross the 200 million unit mark, the company's fourth-quarter shipments will increase by more than 30%.
