While Xiaomi, in the past, has announced when MIUI 12 global stable will arrive on their respective devices, there is some confusion on the subject. Updating through this method and these links is completely safe. However, it doesn't hurt to back up all the data and files on your phone first, in case something goes wrong. Furthermore, we urge you to do this and not start the installation process before you have done so.
In the specific case of the Redmi Note 7, some users get an error and won't allow the update to be installed. Apparently there are some models of this phone that do not support the firmware package. On the other hand, if you do not want to perform these simple steps, you are not anxious to receive MIUI 12 and you prefer to wait for the OTA to arrive with MIUI 12 global stable to your Xiaomi or Redmi device, you will not have to wait long, since Starting next month, other mobiles will be added to receive the new layer of personalization. That said, the update distribution process can sometimes be slow and gradual.
