How to activate the notifications of the updated applications of the Play Store

Google Play Store

Last January (2019) many were the users who saw how the notifications of the applications were updated they had started to stop showing, a notification that only reported that our terminal had automatically updated some of the applications we had installed.

In January 2019, we were in version 17.4 of the Play Store, a version of which Google had intentionally disabled that option without warning. Twelve months later, it seems that Google has changed their mind and have once again allowed the user to activate the notifications of the applications that are updated.

The notifications that informed us that we had manually updated an application had also disappeared and are still not available at the moment. If you want turn on app notifications again that are updated on your device while it is charging and / or connected to a Wi-Fi network, you must perform the steps detailed below:

  • Once we have opened the Play Store, we go to the Settings of the store.
  • Next, click on Notifications.
  • Inside Notifications, we activate switch Aupdates completed.
  • On the next page, we select the type of notification we want to receive: audible or silent notification.

Notifications from apps being updated, are natively disabled once the application store is updated to this new version, so do not trust that they are activated automatically, since you will have to do it manually by following the steps that we have shown you in this article.

Are they good for anything?

It depends on the control you want to have over the applications you have installed on your device, since these notifications only inform us that they have been updated, nor show us information about the news that have been included, of the version to which they have been updated ...
