Dark mode officially arrived on Android thanks to Android 10, a version that natively includes the possibility to darken both the application drawer and the menus and the background of the applications that have been updated to be compatible with this mode.
To date, all Google applications have already been updated, and although have not adopted the absolute black background, if not a dark gray, it will always be better when using the smartphone in low ambient light than the traditional light mode. The latest app to adapt to Android 10's dark mode has been eBay.
eBay just got an update adding the ability to select dark mode manually, or automatic, adapted to the system. In this way, if we activate the dark mode when a certain time of day arrives, this application will show the dark mode.
Unlike Google apps that have adopted this mode, the background color is a much darker gray than the one implemented by Google, giving the feeling of being completely black, but unfortunately it is not. The background color used in the application corresponds to the hexadecimal value # 171717.

- Once we run the application, click on the three horizontal lines that are in the upper left corner of the application.
- Next, we access the options of Configuration.
- Inside Settings, we go to Themes and we select the one that best suits our tastes or needs: light, dark, battery saver or default.
The battery saving mode offers us the same interface color as the light mode. In the application notes its function is not specified and what impact it has on battery consumption, but it is likely related to the operation of notifications and that it deactivates them while that mode is activated.
