The Honor V20 will arrive with a 48 megapixel rear camera

Invitation to the Honor V20 event

Honor fans are eagerly awaiting the successor to last year's Honor V10 flagship phone. According to what was expected, the phone would be presented this coming December 22 in Paris, France. This could still be so.

The Chinese manufacturer has started sending invitations for the Honor V20 launch in China. The invitation received by the CNMO reveals that the Honor V20 will be official on December 26 in the Asian country. Also, it will be equipped with a 48 megapixel camera on its back.

The invitation images shared in the post reveal that the Honor V20 will be the first smartphone to have a 48 megapixel rear camera, which could be the Sony IMX586 sensor. This will be announced on December 26 at the Beijing University of Technology gymnasium in Beijing, China. The text mentioned on the invitation is larger at the top, but gets smaller as you go down. Honor has advised guests to bring the invitation letter at the Honor V20 launch event.

Recent reports have revealed that the Honor V20 has a code name, which is "Princeton". It is rumored that the smartphone features an on-screen hole design, like the new Samsung Galaxy A8s. Its panel will support a FullHD+ resolution of 2,310 x 1,080 pixels. In addition to this, it will come pre-installed with Android 9 Pie. The Kirin 980 chipset will be present under the hood of the device.

No information is yet available on the device's battery capacity. Despite this, it has been confirmed through its 3C certification in China, that will support 22.5W fast charge.

On the other hand, it is also said that it is equipped with something called '3D Camera'. This will be able to create 3D models of people and objects for AR. This indicates that the phone will also feature a 3D ToF (Time of Flight) stereo camera. The other details of it are currently under the wrappers. Even so, the Honor V20 is estimated to hit the Chinese markets with a starting price of 2,799 yuan (~ 355 euros).
