Harvest Town is a new farm simulator and more for Android that literally drinks from the source of inspiration that has been and is Stardew Valley, the premium game that came from PC and that allows us to have a whole farm at our feet with great visual pixel art.
The big difference from Harvest Town is being a top freemium game. That is, while we have Stardew Valley as a premium one, this one from QY Games, and which is currently in beta, is freemium; that is, you can play for free, although you do not have all the content for a payment as if it happens with the original (which by the way, was also inspired by Harvest Moon).
Your free farm without paying a euro, but with your things
Here we can enter into the debate that We have this one for free and the other one for payment. But to tell the truth, we always like the original. In which they fix and then make their copies. And with this we do not say that Harvest Town is a bad game, the other way around. From the first moment it captures attention and shows some differences.
The first, we are before a farm simulator with lots of pixel art and that it is simply quite an experience to look at its details. If they wanted to imitate StardewThey have done it in such a way that we are going to really enjoy the farm, its elements, its characters, its environments and all those details. Maybe in the menus it is not on par in the design language, but in general terms, visually it is at a very high level.
One of the differences we find with Harvest Town is that you will be able to pick up automatically. That is, you click on the paddle, and our beloved protagonist goes directly to use the paddle wherever he can use it. This saves us a lot of time in harvesting, planting and more. And it is one of the biggest differences with Stardew, since in this one we have to do it manually when we use the pick and more tools.
Harvest Town and online
Of course, we go with the similarities. You will be able to have your pet, you can move freely, you can grow any type of pet from which you take some product, decorate your farm, even fish and you will have a backstory that you will discover as you get to know all the characters that await you in this great adventure.
But where Harvest Town really differs is online. We will be able play multiplayer racing games, trade and even create real-time online relationships with other players. It is the point where Stardew Valley is still lacking. While on PC they do have multiplayer, and in a game of this style it multiplies the experience exponentially, on Android we still do not have access; yes, it will come soon.
It is in online multiplayer where Harvest Town goes to play your cards and maybe that's what hooks us. Because otherwise it brings back fond memories of the source of inspiration. It even has the four seasons such as summer, fall, winter and spring.
A game that goes beyond simulation
So we are left with a freemium farm simulator with online multiplayer in which other types of gameplays such as RPG or puzzles are also mixed. We can even have our boat to discover new lands or have our own people. Anyway, we are going to play it longer to see where everything is and it is not just a mere facade. To say that Stardew Valley is a deep game in which everything is devised with one goal, so we will see with Harvest Town.
Technically the great art in pixel art is very appreciable, and from what we have played, it moves perfectly in other facets. A graceful title in the technical and that we still have to discover what happens in the freemium. It is in beta, so we will see how it works in the updates.
Harvest Town now comes to Android in beta format so you can enjoy having a free farm It does not require you to pay a not very high amount of euros. A title to try and enjoy online while we wait for Stardew to one day arrive that multiplayer so that the experience is more than great.
