Google to launch 'Pixel 3' laptop with Andromeda OS for Q2017 XNUMX

Andromeda

If in a few days we will have the first Google phones with the Pixel brand, seen in the Chromebooks, for these same dates, but for next year, the Mountain View phones would be ready to go. present your new laptop 'Pixel 3' which would lead to the Andromeda operating system on the software side. The Andromeda OS is the mix of Chrome OS and Android, so interest is growing for that laptop.

The project, known internally as 'Bison' and by the nickname 'Pixel 3', will be the first Google device to show live Andromeda, the combination of Android and Chrome OS. Bison will be the culmination of years of work between Google's Pixel, Android and Chrome OS teams. A very interesting bet for a laptop that will not be brought to the market as a Chromebook, but with Andromeda, as a great bet and with great ambition.

It would be more appropriate to say that Bison will be more Android than Chrome OS, and it is for this reason that Google had to launch Andromeda. With this said, this OS could be canceled and we still have official confirmations, although it seems that the sources from which the news comes are trustworthy.

Bison is a ultra thin notebook with a 12,3-inch screen, although it will also offer a tablet mode. This means that it could be similar to what Lenovo offers with its Yoga line of two devices in one depending on the user's need.

In its guts it will have an Intel m3 or i5 processor with 32 or 128 GB of storage and 8 or 16 GB of RAM. Those component differences would put us in front of two variants of Bison. It will also feature a fingerprint scanner, two USB Type-C ports, 3,5mm audio jack, a variety of sensors, Stylus support with a Wacom pen sold separately, stereo speakers, quad microphones and a battery that will reach 10 hours.

The keyboard will be backlit and the glass trackpad will use haptic / force detection similar to what the MacBook has. Google intends to bring all those components to a device of 10 millimeters thick, which would be even finer than Apple's mentioned.

Its price would start at U.S. dollar 799 and it would arrive for the third quarter of 2017.
