While some still have trouble getting a Google Pixel, the company is apparently preparing the second generation of these devices, which this year will feature 3 models instead of 2, all of them with processor Snapdragon 835.
As indicated by several newly discovered codes in the Android Open Source project, the three new Google mobiles have code names "Walleye","Muskie"And"Trout".
We already knew that Walleye will be the successor to the pixel XLWhile Muskie will likely replace the standard Pixel, but the one that remains a mystery is the device with a nickname Trout, although it is believed it could be a new phablet with a screen even larger than the Google Pixel XL, or even a tablet in the style of the Pixel C released in 2015.
Other information revealed by the same source indicates that the three new smartphones will have the Snapdragon 835 processor because Qualcomm has not yet announced a new model, so Google will be satisfied with adding this SoC to its terminals.
Apart from the Qualcomm processor, other possible specifications of the Google Pixel 2 They are the inclusion of an Adreno 540 GPU at a speed of 670MHz, about 6GB of RAM, the LTE X16 modem, IP68 certification, Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging with USB-C and the Android O operating system from the factory.
Regarding cameras, the current generation of the Google Pixel already has the best camera that can be found in a smartphone, according to DxOMark, so the new generation will surely continue on the same path although possibly with higher resolution sensors and more software optimizations.
The release date of the new Google Pixel 2 is not yet known, but the new devices will be made by HTC and could debut in October of the 2017, the same month the current generation of Pixel phones was introduced last year.
