The Mountain View-based giant does not stop updating its star applications to add functionalities that allow us to get the most out of its solutions. Recently we talked to you about the latest news coming to Google Photos, and now we have to talk about google-timelapse, one of the best Google Earth tools.
We are talking about a functionality that allows us to see the passage of time in our city thanks to a series of photographs where we can see how it has grown over the years. Until now, it was only available to use from a PC or laptop, but finally the big G has updated its service and now we can use Google Timelapse through mobile. We teach you how to do it.
So you can use Google Timelapse from your mobile phone
To get this functionality in google-timelapse which allows us to see the passage of time in a region between 1984 and 2018, Google has had access to more than 15 million images obtained by the main NASA satellites and the European SENTINEL program. The result? Photos with 10 quadrillion pixels that, combined with CREATE Lab's Time Machine technology, allow us to see in real time the deforestation of the Amazon, or how our city has grown in 30 years.
And its access is really simple. All you have to do is access this link From any smartphone or tablet, give options to access TimeLapse and choose the region in which you want to see how the passage of time has affected. A very easy to use service and really curious to see how the planet has evolved over the last few years.
Google Timelapse may not work on very old devices or those with too limited resources, so if you can't test it, you can always use the same link to access the web version of this service and enjoy the benefits of one of the more curious features of Google Earth.
