Google tries a new button for the interface in Maps

New Maps bar

While the current version of Google Maps has a button at the bottom of the screen to explore, which allows us to know the points of interest that we have in the area, it seems that some are beginning to see a different version of what would be the bottom bar with various options such as locations, driving or traffic details.

Nothing that surprises us that Google is modifying for offer a better user experienceas it does with all its applications. These modifications have to do, and a lot, with the elements of the apps that are usually used the most, so nothing happens to place them in a better position, such as the same ones in the bar at the bottom.

The design is very similar to the interface of the bottom bar that has been adopted in a good number of recent Google apps. There are three well differentiated spaces or areas in the app which includes an updated version of "Exploration" that has been seen in one of those beta versions that Google usually launches to test new features.

The interface will move when you select "drive" from the bottom bar, so that the traffic reporting options and one to start driving mode. With transit, the bottom bar provides access to nearby stations and related information.

What we will have to wait to access this new lower bar, as it arrives from the server side and there is no point in installing a new Google Maps APK. What will offer a better user experience for those more specific functions that we usually use almost daily when we launch Maps. A "smarter" bar that keeps pace with the current times and that adds to that small update from days ago related to Pokémon GO.
