From the looks of it, Google has returned to its jurisdiction in regards to the device limitations for Google Play Music that were imposed a couple of years ago.
Users are now informed from the Google Play Music settings page and Google support documents with: «Four devices can be deauthorized per year«. If for whatever reason you go over the number of devices, the following message will appear: «sorry, you have deauthorized too many devices«. The moment this happens you should wait a whole year to be able to delete the devices of your account and start counting that you have 10 as a limit.
This change implies that now we will not have free will to power install our account wherever it was to play our impressive music library to leave our friends and colleagues in awe of such quality in the repertoire. So you should think carefully about which devices you are going to activate your Google Play Music account, although you have 4 deauthorizations so you can have a bit of freedom but not as much as until now.
Surely this new measure will bring many users down the street of bitterness when they realize they can't overrule some of their devices and that they will have to wait to activate Google Play Music on the newly acquired tablet, so we could expect a change in this new guideline if Google receives enough complaints.
Apart from that more and more, users use more devices, between the tablet, the smartphone that we have taken to support to fix it, the one that they leave us temporarily for a few days, plus the newly acquired new tablet or more the grandmother's phone so that she has all our music, The likes to be modern, quickly those 10 devices can fall short.
Well, it will screw me a lot because every time you change the ROM it counts you as a new device.
And what is the procedure to follow to be able to eliminate them?
