Files from Google in Android 11 will allow us to access storage services in the cloud

Google Files

As the years go by, Google Files every time it is becoming a more necessary and important application within the Android ecosystem, not only because of the large number of functions it offers us, but also because of the new features that are gradually being introduced into the application.

Google has launched a new beta of Android 11, a beta that offers us an interesting new function in the Google Files application. With Android 11, the Google Files application, the same one that is currently available in the Play Store, adds a new menu called Other storage.

Within this menu, shortcuts cloud storage services that we have installed on our device. By clicking on each of them, we can directly access these services and manage the files that we have stored. If we do not have the application installed, it will not be displayed within the storage services that we have access to from the Google Files application.

This function is very similar to the one currently offered by Apple through the Files app, an application that allows us to access storage services as long as we have the application installed on our device. This functionality in iOS is one of the functions that Google has introduced in the Android 11 code.

It is also likely that it is only a question of a test that later does not lead to see the light in its final version. It would not be the first time that during the beta phase we talked about a function that finally did not reach the market in its final version. In the case of Android 10, we find an example in that during the beta phase if we could program the operation of the dark mode, but not in its final version, as we know.
