OnePlus has managed, after many years in the market, to become an option to be taken into account by many users thanks to the fantastic features that it offers us at a very contained price, and the agreements it has reached with operators and Amazon to expand its distribution network.
Google Duo is the call and video call platform that Google makes available to users, a platform that as the months go by, it captures the interest of more users. Both companies have reached an agreement to integrate the call and video call platform in OxygenOS, the customization layer of the OnePlus.
In this way, both the calls and the messages we make will be registered in Google Duo and all the application updates will come from the hand of the OxygenOS updates, instead of the different updates released by the search giant.
OnePlus has decided to integrate this platform into OxygenOS due to the success of this platform in India, as we can read in the article that they have posted on the blog announcing this integration.
In early 2018, we conducted a research study with OnePlus users in India on the ability to make video calls. In this regard, Google Duo ranks first in terms of call quality. Following this, we are now introducing Google Duo as a native feature for video calling on our devices and providing improved video calling quality for all OnePlus users.
Google Duo integration will be available for the OnePlus 6T as part of OxygenOS 9.0.12 and for the 6, 5T and 5 with OxygenOS 9.0.4. Users of the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 will also be available but as part of the next updates they will receive from Android Pie.
