Fortnite finally lands on the Google Play Store

Fortnite

Since the launch of Fortnite for Android was announced, many were rumors of how it could arrive. Once did it didn't go directly through the Play Store, but through an installer that we have to download from its website (enabling the installation of third-party applications) ...

While Epic Games had no choice but to go through the hoop to be available on the App Store (pay 30% of purchases to Apple), the Fortnite developer opted for this method, a method that a year after its launch for Android, has shown is not the ideal, as Google stated at the time.

Not be available in the Play Store, not only a security risk of the terminals that install it, but users cannot make use of the payment method that they have associated with the Play Store account, so they have to use a different one or configure it within the game.

A few months ago, it was rumored that Fortnite could end up hitting the Play Store, as long as Google agree to reduce or eliminate the 30% fee (the same as the one available in the App Store) that remains from each purchase, something that has not finally happened.

According to Epic Games, after announcing the launch of Fortnite on the Play Store, it has come to the basic understanding that it is very difficult to distribute an Android application outside of the Play Store. Google's security protections on Android often show pop-up windows recommending the removal of installed applications, sometimes even blocking their use.

The game will continue to be available outside of the Play Store, through the Epic Games website, but now payments will be associated with the Play Store account. Of course, the prices of the application downloaded from the Play Store for purchases are more expensive than those that we can find in the application downloaded directly from Epic Games (the same happens in the App Store).

The app was not found in the store. 🙁
