Fing - Network Tools allows us to know in detail who uses our WiFi network

Fing - Network Tools It is free and allows you to know in detail who uses our network WiFiPerhaps you start to have suspicions that some infiltrator is connecting to your WiFiPerhaps for many this is a piece of cake, but there are users who want to learn how to configure their router or modem against intruders and for that Fing - Network Tools lends us a hand.

How is it used?

Once we have the app installed, at the top you will see the name of your network and an update arrow, as well as a nut that symbolizes the options menu. Click on the arrow to update and the application will show which devices are connected to that network WiFi, specifying which device it is.

One of its many advantages is that we can change the name of the IPs that we see, in this way we will know who we are and who the infiltrators are. We simply click on the intruder at the top we will see the option 'Enter a name'. We give the name we want to that IP, for example: intruder.

Block unknown devices from our computer

In the event that we have located foreign devices, we can access the NAT and MAC information and, by connecting to the router, prevent them from entering our network again. WiFi.

On your computer, connected to your router, type your IP address in the browser bar. They will ask you for the password and username of your router, if you have not changed it, it will be specified on the device.

You will now see a menu on the home page of your router. Go to the Security tab and write a new password (remember that later to connect to your WiFi with your phone or computer, you will have to write this new password).

If this is not enough, you can block access from other devices. In the Fing application you will see the information of your connected devices. Write down your MAC address (or your MAC addresses, depending on how many devices you have connected) on a piece of paper.

Look in the configuration page that you opened on your computer for the option Block devices. In Access Control you can filter the MAC address (one or more) that you have written down. This will block any strange invasion. Remember that if you choose this option, no one will be able to connect to your WiFi without returning to this Access Control option.
