FedEx refuses to deliver a shipment of the Huawei P30 Pro from the UK to the US.

Huawei P30 Pro

Thanks to existing conflicts between the United States and Huawei, there are many actors who have been involved and are part of the war. Some of them are simply receiving orders from the American country to make life miserable for the Chinese manufacturer, while others have only decided to continue with their existing relationships.

Fedex is a firm that does not seem to want to keep in contact with Huawei, as one of its branches in the United States has returned the shipment of a device of this brand to its sender in the United Kingdom. More details below.

The CMag firm has been in the news on this occasion. It attempted to ship a P30 Pro from the UK to the US, but was unable to complete the shipment due to being returned to sender thanks to ongoing legal drama.

Fedex returns the shipment of a Huawei P30 Pro

Returned Huawei P30 Pro by Fedex

PCMag's UK office had the P30 Pro in hand, and the New York office needed it. If this were any other phone, it would be a simple matter to ship it.

The PCMag employee in charge of the operation completed the submission form honestly and listed the phone model. The package left the UK via Parcelforce, a part of the Royal Mail system. FedEx received the package in the US, and five hours later returned it to the UK with a note blaming the US government's action against Huawei.

After that, a FedEx customer service agent said this:

“On May 16, 2019, Huawei Technologies and 68 of its global affiliates were included in the 'Entity List', which establishes a list of certain entities with which US companies have restrictions on doing business. My apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you.

A representative for Huawei responded to the conversation on Twitter and said that FedEx has a "misinterpretation" of the executive order and the list of entities. But what it really seems is that FedEx does not want to be part of something that has the word "Huawei" in order to avoid risks and reprisals from the Donald Trump government.

This is especially frustrating when you consider that UPS does not have such problems with the delivery of Huawei devices. According to a company spokesperson, there is no blanket ban on shipping Huawei devices between UK and US locations. UPS only prohibits shipping products to “69 selected Huawei locations,” all outside the US In addition to this, all of these countries are listed in the May 21 edition of the Federal Register.

Neither FedEx nor Parcelforce have provided an official comment or response to this incident.. It's a real shame and it's just not very fair to Huawei or consumers. This really shouldn't be a problem. It's ridiculous that we even have to mention it. The truth is, we hope FedEx will do something to correct this in the future.
