Facebook Messenger hides video calling function

The new version of Facebook Messenger for the Android mobile operating system hides an interesting little secret: it has an integrated video conferencing resource, although it is not yet available to users.

The 9to5Mac and How To Arena websites have published that the Facebook Messenger application contains this resource and that it was identified after a search of its code in its two versions, that is, both for Android and iOS.

The sites also reported that the development stage of this tool is still very rudimentary, but that there are references to the functions that can be offered to the user in the possible final version of the application. From what could be known, the Facebook Messenger video call function already has an indication of the voice and video calls missed, in addition to the video call icon, which is present in the hidden code of the application.

Facebook has not yet officially confirmed that it is working on a video calling feature. However, this is not the first time that the future plans of the social network were made known thanks to the investigation of the hidden codes in its programs.
