Evernote rectifies and will not apply the changes to the Privacy Policy

Evernote

Just yesterday we were commenting how to prevent Evernote employees from watching in your notes as of January 23, 2017. This was due to the fact that changes were announced in the Privacy Policy guidelines that would allow you to "dive" into the notes of users, if Evernote required it at some point.

A large number of comments were poured from blogs and social networks so that Evernote I have taken good note of them and announced today that it will not implement the previously announced changes to the Privacy Policy scheduled to take effect on January 23, 2017.

Anyway, from their own blog, they comment that they will be reviewing their Privacy Policy to respond to your customers' concerns, enforce that their data remains private by default, and confirm that the trust in which Evernote is placed is well founded.

They also warn that they will make available to users the machine learning technologies, or what is called "machine learning", to which no employee will have access to the said notes as part of this process, unless the users accept it. That's why Evernote customers will be invited to help create a better product by joining the program.

Evernote has made very clear these guidelines:

  • Evernote employees do not read and will not read the notes of users without their express permission
  • Evernote comply with the law in a way that maintains the privacy of customer data
  • Our "Three Data Protection Laws" remain intact: your data belongs to you, is protected and is transferable

It is appreciated that Evernote quickly came to the fore to undertake those criticisms and opinions expressed in order to make it clear that your notes belong to you and no one else. This is something that Facebook cannot say itself, since everything you upload to the social network is its property.
