The Signal messaging client is one of the great beneficiaries together with Telegram of the great rout of users that WhatsApp is having in the last week. Signal has grown 4.300% in number of downloads and just reach 50 million downloads since its launch until now.
Signal as a strong point has privacy, something that WhatsApp users have lost and will continue to lose from February 8. To this he adds an interesting option such as being able to enable chats with messages that disappear with the specified time that we put on it.
How to enable chats with disappearing messages in Signal
The period of time can range from one hour to a week, in between there are other options of half an hour, 1 hour up to the aforementioned week. This is a similarity to messages that self-destruct on WhatsApp and that it has been available for a good period of time.
Signal is going to become an app that will grow by leaps and bounds after many people take the step to abandon what is one of the most used messaging tools, WhatsApp. Signal was born by the developers of WhatsApp, although for the moment privacy is the strong point of this application.
To enable chats with disappearing messages in Signal you have to do the following:
- Open the chat of any contact on your list
- Click on the three dots menu and select "Disappearance of messages"
- Now select the duration of the messages, the most appropriate may be one week, but this will depend on you, it can be from 5 minutes to a week, going through other times from less to longer
Signal once you mark it and send a message will start cutting that time and you will see how they are eliminated without having to do it manually. The user is the one who in the end decides what to do with those messages, since being protected they make them safe when sending them to any of your contacts.
