At a media event yesterday, Consumer BG Software's Huawei President Dr. Wang Chenglu revealed that EMUI has exceeded 470 million daily active users. As of now, the Android-based operating system is available in 77 languages and 216 regions.
EMUI 9
After giving some key figures on the manufacturer's customization layer, Dr. Wang further reaffirmed Huawei's commitment to improving it. He mentioned some of the significant improvements in recent editions of EMUI, such as the GPU Turbo technology in EMUI 8.2, Link Turbo with EMUI 9.0, and even its new Huawei Arca Compiler in the EMUI 9.1 update. In the presentation he also announced the development that the operating system has had in recent years.
With Huawei's shipment of more than 59 million units of smartphones in the first quarter of this year, the company is set to break the total target of 250 million shipments for the year. As more and more Huawei and Honor smartphones hit the market, EMUI is expected to grow faster in the coming years.
Soon the layer will be implementing more functions and improvements, since Huawei wants to increase its number of users in the world, and for this it is necessary to innovate in it.
