Dropbox updates, new document search and PDF reader

Dropbox new PDF reader.

The cloud file service application, Dropbox, receives an update highlighting a new PDF document reader and a new internal search of documents that we have lodged in our space. With this update, the application catches up with its most direct competitors.

Google Drive is perhaps one of the platforms that works best for file storage, at least for those people who use Google services often. For this reason, the team behind Dropbox has updated its version for Android and thus not be left behind in this war of cloud storage.

A couple of days ago Drive was updated with several improvements within the application, such as the possibility of dragging and dropping different files or folders, or we could also see how they improved compatibility with some files, including in the update a way to read PDF on Android. Surely the Dropbox team got their act together when they saw it and wants to continue maintaining the advantage of being among the first to arrive in this sector.

In this new update we find curiously a new PDF document reader. This new reader not only works within the application, since it even the reader works outside of Dropbox and even when we are not connected to any network, thus being able to access all those PDF files that we have on our Android device. They also announce that there is the possibility of sharing those PDFs that we have, since the application will generate an automatic link to share it. Those PDF files that have been shared through the platform will be automatically added to a folder called Sent Files within Dropbox.

Another of the great novelties that the new version of Dropbox includes is the new document search internal within the application. This new search allows you to search between PDF, PowerPoint and Word files much faster. Inside it we also find another small novelty, and it is the possibility to find phrases or words in these documents, a feature that many users will like and will find useful, especially for those who want to find something specific in a long document.

As we see the competition between large companies with cloud service is strong, and if a few days ago it was the Google platform that updated its version for Android, now Dropbox does, making managing our space in the cloud much more functional from mobile devices. The Dropbox update will be available for the next few hours, so stay tuned to your terminals to update it and be able to enjoy the news.
