Dropbox urges users to change their password from time to time

Cloud storage services have become one of the spaces in which we usually have sensitive information, private photos and all kinds of files that are quite important. Like other services, you have to change the password from time to time in order to have greater security that it cannot be stolen by someone.

Dropbox, when noticing that there are many users who do not change their password for a long time, has taken his blog to urge that it would be advisable to do this in order to avoid major problems. It is not that they have had problems with their system or anything like that, but that they have taken this precautionary measure by checking the age of many of their users' passwords.

dropbox had a problem in July 2012 in which usernames and passwords were believed to have been stolen. The affected accounts were told to change their passwords, but the vast majority of users were not affected, so they had no reason to change it.

That was four years ago and now it's Dropbox when it thinks it's the best time to update their passwords and, incidentally, their practices. Not all Dropbox users are being asked to change their passwords, only those who created their account before July 2012 and have never changed it since.

But since we are in these, it is always recommended that every few months we change the password. It can be quite heavy having to memorize a new password or update the one we have with more characters, but if you have sensitive information, imagine the case in which you lost it and could no longer enter your account. So don't waste a lot of time, head over to your Dropbox and change that password.
