Dropbox launches Carousel, a "social" gallery app dedicated to photos and videos

Dropbox is taking an important course with the recent acquisition of the online reading service Readmill, or even today launching the alternative email client called Mailbox for Android. And in this new journey that the most popular cloud storage service is embarking on, there appears a new application launched by themselves to the Play Store, and which has the name Carousel.

Carousel is an application dedicated to organizing all your photos and videos, and which aims to be a whole social experience, in order to manage all the photos that you have uploaded from your Android to your Dropbox account. An important Dropbox bet that has reached the Google store today.

We have already been counting in past posts how the big fish eat the little ones, and Dropbox seems to want to belong to this "food pyramid" by having acquired Readmill or the Mailbox itself, to enlarge the app ecosystem itself and thus offer a better service to those users who are so happy with their incredible Dropbox.

Android Carousel

Dropbox's intention with Carousel is that it is an interesting social experience, even with the integration of private conversations within the application. The idea is that family members and their friends can relive past moments or events, having the ability to group not only your photos, but others that others have shared with you.

So from Carousel you can share photos with friends, see them by day and location and leave comments on the same shares by your friends or family. The application is available today for both Android and iOS, so here we forget about exclusivities.

If you want to start to be part of this new social experience from Dropbox, from the widget below the download to the app.

The app was not found in the store. 🙁
