Code Racer is an excellent driving game in which we are going to control the car with a few lines of code that we are going to program so that our vehicle executes a series of actions such as accelerating, braking, turning and many others.
A very curious game and that helps us perfectly to understand the basic concepts of programming, since we are going to have to do dozens of tests until we find the right lines of code to execute the desired action and thus our car meets its objective of reaching the goal.
Programming what is a gerund!
Ago Little did we have the great Rabidds Coding! with the same concept in which an articulated arm was capable of picking up the Rabbids when execute a code that we implemented based on a line of actions to follow. In Code Racer we are in the same concept, but with the difference that we have to get our vehicle to reach the goal and stay there for a few seconds.
We simply have to add a series of actions to be executed in a linear way. That is, it begins with the first action to follow the second and until the last that we have. For example, we have a command series type: accelerate, reverse, turn right, turn left, brake and wait.
These commands are used to perform an action with the car and make it move to the goal. Apart from being able to choose those types of command, we also have to select the strength of the command and the time that the action will last. Time is important because it will allow us to use kinetic energy, the energy that our vehicle possesses due to its movement, to reach the goal.
Kinetic energy in Code Racer
We say about the kinetic energy because when an object is set in motion, and more in a car with its weight, it means that we have to brake it so that it stops just at the moment that interests us, and more in Code Racer when we have to stop it right at the finish line. That is, it is not going through the goal, but rather staying in that same space and not leaving.
So you have to calculate very well the time it has to take to accelerate and brake. All these commands must be configured properly, so we recommend that you try again and again to configure each one that is needed.
Y we will need more commands depending on the level. A flat road is not the same as one with a curve to the left or that has a rise and slope so that we have to calculate a greater pushing force and a longer acceleration time. This is where the greatest value of this game called Code Racer comes in.
A programming, physics and puzzle game
With all that we have a series of level packs with hundreds of them, a daily challenge and a multiplayer mode to enjoy with others those lines of actions to execute that we need so that our vehicle reaches the goal before others. A game very well achieved in its concepts and that is very engaging for those who want to perfect their lines of code and know a little how this programming is going.
On a technical level we stick with your object physics well carried out so that no line of action is executed in bad manners and everything has its own harmony. The effects of kinetic energy will be well noticed when we put it into action in our vehicle with ramps, curves and more. Visually it is well worked, but without much fanfare to take us to a complete game experience.
