Chrome remote desktop is updated with "touch mode" and Material Design

Chrome remote control

Since July 2015 I did not receive an update this app called Chrome Remote Desktop and that allows us to remotely control our PC from our Android device.

In this new version come some improvements in the interface to put it on a par with the Material Design language and a new «touch mode» which creates a new way of interacting with your remote desktop.

The main interface has received a higher quality toolbar, a side menu and a color scheme that stays more in a blue than that previous mix between green and blue. Another novelty is that computers now show whether their status has been offline for a certain time.

The other big change is in the functional one and the one that interests us the most. In the previous version, when you controlled your remote desktop, you had two options on the screen: one for the keyboard and one to go to full mode. Now the app has the full mode automatically and you have to swipe to reveal the toolbar.

It is in this toolbar where you can switch between controlling the remote desktop with mouse or touch mode. The latter is new and instead of controlling the cursor on the screen, your finger turns into a button as if you were in front of a touch screen. One click emulates the left mouse button and using two fingers to click on the screen achieves the same effect as clicking the right mouse button.

The update is available from the Play Store, but you can grab it from APK Mirror if you want to update Chrome Remote Desktop or Chrome Remote Desktop manually.
