The evolution that camera sensors for smartphones have undergone is clear. For years, the typical and basic 8 or 12 MP shooters, for example, have ceased to be the highest resolution ones. Nowadays, after already receiving the 48 and 64 MP lenses, we now have 108 MP lenses, which can offer high quality photo results, although not by themselves, but that is another matter.
Xiaomi has been one of the few companies that has implemented this camera in some of its most recent mobiles. Those of the Mi 10 series have this one, but, being a flagship, the prices of these mobiles are reserved for people capable of paying no less than 500 dollars, if the standard version of this family is available on offer, which is the Mi 10. However, soon we will be receiving a phone with a 108 MP sensor from Xiaomi, and with a considerably lower price ... at least, according to the latest leaked information about it.
In July a rumor appeared that Xiaomi was working on cheap smartphones with 64 and 108 MP cameras. While we do not know what price range the term "cheap" referred to at the time, as now, we speculate that this was between 200 and 300 euros. When talking about a mobile phone with a 108 MP camera, we do not expect you to have a photo module with fewer than three triggers. In addition, the processor of it could not be just anyone, but a powerful one like the Snapdragon 765G or higher, which is capable of supporting said sensor.
Taking these possible specifications into account, it is difficult for us to believe that the company can offer a mobile with these characteristics for 200-300 euros, but if it does, we would appreciate it very much. We owe these expectations that we now have to a leaker on Weibo who has recently given this rumor strength.
