Google keyboard has been located in a very special position in the not so long time that it has been in the Google Play Store. When there were several keyboards that reigned at ease, one of them SwiftKey, Google finally decided to boot from the Android system to its keyboard so that any user could update the application from the Play Store without major problems.
This is why every time a new Google Keyboard update appears we quickly go to it wanting to know what it brings again. Already in version 5.1 of the keyboard Google offered some new features of the previous one, apart from being the version included in Android N, so the interest was evident. Now is when that version has finally reached the Play Store to the delight of all fans of this keyboard.
The biggest change in this version of Google Keyboard is that it has greatly improved the theme selector. There are more than a dozen themes in different colors, apart from the fact that you can add a custom image to add as a background.
The updated theme menu is where you'll find the selector for apply border to keys and that was already added a while ago. Among other new features in version 5.1, which you can download below from the APK, it includes Unicode 9 with a skin tone selector, but this will not work in Marshmallow. This ringtone selection feature is currently available on Android N.
A Google Keyboard that it is improving enormously in the customization options, one of its weaknesses compared to other keyboards such as SwiftKey that offer greater advantages in this regard. You can download the APK for your device below.
