While we continue to wait for those offline maps to be able to download them and not have to relegate the connection to continue navigating through the selected route, perhaps we can access today one of those Google Maps updates that bring interesting news and that underpin the experience of use with one of the services most used by all, when we want to know a destination or that they indicate us what kind of establishments we can find through the current route selected.
It is this same great novelty that we can access today and that is now navigation offers the search capability through the chosen route, which gives you the opportunity to know when the next gas station on the road or a commercial establishment such as a restaurant will be to take a stop and we can stretch our legs before resuming the trip to the town of our parents. A new update to which you can access its APK at the end of this post where we have part of its details.
Search through the path
At the moment that we are in the navigation mode, it is now possible to perform a search and choose the different destinations that we can find on the way home or to the vacation spot. To access the search options, we just have to click on the floating search button (the magnifying glass icon) and go to "search the existing route" or on the same button that we will find in the upper right part to appear the series of search options.
There are four options that are predefined and that allow us to access the next destinations that may become a gas station, restaurants, shops and cafes. There is another option available than to search for more places that opens the standard search window where we can carry out any daily action with this feature.
With these four options we can access what is needed when one is on the road on a trip that can arrive at 3 or 4 hours and in which it is vital to make a stop to take a break and get back on the road. These will be added to the global arrival time so that we will spend on it, if for whatever reason we had to deviate a lot, although we will not have the need for it since they are normally found on the same highway as services.
Without harming the current route
The best thing about this functionality is that does not alter the current route that we have taken. The destinations selected through that interface can be eliminated or replaced while the current route will continue to exist from the position in which we are. This is easily accomplished when a quick stop has been selected.
Another of the biggest features is know the price of gasoline or diesel at the next gas station. Although not all have them listed, at least it is the beginning of a future option that allows us to know if we are interested in this next gas station or wait for the next one.
An interesting novelty that obviously improves the user experience when we use it on long trips and it arrives within a month of one of the latest news.
