[APK] Allo 2.0 adds direct responses, Direct Share, keyboard GIF support and more

Allo

Allo is still struggling to find those contacts that the user can chat with. The most important thing about the launch of this app was that he had Google Assistant with him, the central axis for most of the products presented by the big G on October 4, and that will take on greater importance as users access the purchase of the Google Pixel, Home and many others.

Now it has been updated to version 2.0 with the idea of being a slightly more attractive app, although it even improves, it will take time to welcome more and more users. It will be Google Assistant that allows this app to begin to be more used in the near future than it is now. In this first major update it has brought some very interesting features such as GIF support on the keyboard, direct answers and much more that we will comment on.

The first trio of novelties

In some versions of Android that allow a quick response from the status bar itself and to which we are already used to in WhatsApp or Telegram, Allo ran out of them in the version launched more than a month ago. It was only possible to respond from the most typical way when having to open the application. Is now when you can reply directly from the notification, as happens in many other apps that have taken advantage of this advantage. In this status bar you can see the name and image of the person who sent the message.

Allo

El Android Wear support It is another of the small novelties that Allo 2.0 brings with it. Now you can make a response with your voice or through emojis on Android Wear. You simply have to click on the notification and start talking. You can also reply with automatic replies if you like.

Now Allo also offers that option that we have in Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Direct Share, and that allows us to share content directly to a specific user in a specific app. This is that, if you share that image, instead of doing it to the app, you will be able to select it, but to a specific user or group, which speeds things up.

The smallest details

Those minor details that are a great novelty when several are added together, too are present in Allo in its version 2.0 that wants to improve the user experience in general terms.

Allo now supports the sending GIFs via keyboards who have this possibility. This is that only those in Android 7.1 and higher (uh), will be able to benefit from this feature, so, the rest of the mortals (those of us who walk in Marshmallow), we will have to wait a bit to make use of it. From the Android keyboard itself you can send GIFS in a fairly simple way and that works quite well. I said, we have to wait.

Allo

The rest of the details are a shortcut on desktop To create a new conversation, it also includes incognito key alerts, a home splash screen that we have become accustomed to in other apps like YouTube, and official multi-window support. Finally, a new accessibility mode is included that transforms Allo's chat bubbles to gray for a more pleasant reading.

An update that should already be knocking on the door of the Google Play Store, but, if you don't want to wait, you can move on to APK download. An Allo that will need its time, if it succeeds, to be used more and more by more and more users. It is going to be difficult, but thanks to Google Assistant and those Google products it will surely be more attractive at a specific time in the next year when we are used to the Pixel, Home and more.
