Android Pay is now available in Belgium

The mobile payments platform developed by Google for the android operating system, Android Pay is now officially available in Belgium. This has been announced by the Google company itself, which thus makes this small but important European country the tenth nation to receive Android Pay.

As in the other nine countries where the system is already available, Android Pay in Belgium is a platform whose operation is very simple; the system is compatible wherever contactless or contactless payments are accepted and allows users to pay for your purchases using just your Android smartphone.

Through a post published on the Google blog under the title "Belgium, Meet Android Pay", the company assures that more than 85.000 points of sale throughout Belgium will accept Android Pay, including large stores such as H & M, Media Markt, Carrefour, as well as smaller retailers and independent stores, which can be consulted at the Android Pay website in Belgium.

But the launch of Android Pay in Belgium is not limited only to physical stores of physical retailers, as Google has also partnered with some very popular apps to allow users to pay using Android Pay directly from their smartphone app.. Some of these applications that are compatible with Android Pay already from the moment of its launch are HotelTonight, Deliveroo, Vueling and TransferWise, while others, such as Uber, will be compatible "soon".

As for the Belgian banks that are already compatible with Android Pay, BNP Paribas, Fintro and Hello bank! In the near future, banks such as CBC, KBC and KBC Brussels are also expected to offer compatibility with Google's mobile payment system - Android.
