While yesterday we were surprised by the possibility that Nutella is the possible name of Android N with the vice president of Android trolling us a bit with that Google search that was seen in a screenshot that he shared through one of his social accounts, today is the day for the deployment of the fourth version of the preview for Android N developers.
Android N Developer Preview 4 has been deployed and the factory images are already available as are update files by OTA. The new build number is NPD56N. The same devices that have had the previous previous ones available are the ones that can also install this previous one. A new preview that brings a very interesting novelty for third-party developers that has to do with the API of the apps.
What's new in Android N Developer Preview 4
The final APIs of Android N
Developer Preview 4 includes the final APIs for the imminent Android N. The level of the new APIs is 24.
Publish to Google Play
You can publish apps that use the API level 24 on Google Play, on the alpha, beta and launch channels
Android Studio and update tools
The final API 24 SDK is also being supplied to be used in Android Studio 2.1.2 and higher. As a bonus, the Developer Preview 4 system images for the emulator have also been updated so you can test your apps.
You can find the factory images from this link, and what are the full OTA files from this other. You can also hope that the update arrive via OTA to your device and thus save you manually installing the new previous one. An Android N that still has its bugs and that may be solved before the launch for this summer, as happened days ago with the memory leak in Android Marshmallow.
