This application, just surpassed 500 million downloads. This is due to various reasons. On the one hand, every manufacturer that updates their terminals to Android 10 has the obligation (according to the GMS agreement) to include this application.
Another reason why this application has become so popular is that it offers us, unlike CarPlay, an independent application that does not require a compatible vehicle to be able to get the most out of it.
Android Auto for everyone
Android Auto is available in two versions. On the one hand we find the application installed natively (the one that Google forces all manufacturers to install). This application runs automatically when we connect our smartphone to a compatible vehicle.
If our vehicle is not compatible with Android Auto, we can download the application available on the Play Store, an application that, as I mentioned above, offers us a basic interface with the main controls of our smartphone to be able to interact with it with minimal distractions.
